If there’s one piece I reach for again and again in my closet, it’s a good Oxford button-down. It’s timeless, versatile, and effortlessly polished. I recently found this Oxford shirt at Quince, and I just had to share some ways to wear a classic button-down shirt.

The Perfect Classic Button-Down Shirt
It can be a struggle to find the perfect button-down shirt. Up until now, I didn’t believe it existed—until I found this one at Quince. The structure of this shirt is spot on, and I feel so polished and put together every time I put it on. You would think this shirt costs around $100, but it doesn’t! It’s just $39.90.
This classic button-down shirt comes in a few timeless colors, including white, blue, and the gray pinstripe I’m wearing here. Unfortunately, the gray pinstripe is sold out as I write this post, but Quince is always restocking, so it should be back soon!
When I find a button-down shirt that’s this good, I just have to style it for a blog post. Here are four ways to wear a classic button-down shirt.
4 Ways to Wear a Classic Button-Down Shirt
Outfit 1: Classic and Tailored Work Look
An Oxford shirt paired with a great pair of trousers is always a timeless office look. I love how polished these pieces make this outfit feel. I added black accessories: a belt, pumps, and a structured black purse, to pull everything together. It’s such a simple, elegant look.

Outfit 2: Casual Look with Jeans and a Cozy Layer
I’m obsessed with this second look. I paired the button-down shirt with these amazing palazzo jeans from Quince. For a layer, I threw my Quince cardigan over my shoulders. I’ve really been loving wearing my cardigan this way, especially as the weather starts to warm up. This outfit would be perfect for a lunch date, an after-school function, or anywhere you want to feel casual but still pulled together.

Outfit 3: Everyday Look with Gray Jeans and a Pull-Over Sweater
For an easy, everyday look, I layered a tan pullover sweater over my button-down shirt and paired it with my new kick flare jeans from Quince. I’ve always loved the look of layering sweaters over button-downs. This is another great spring outfit for a lunch date with a friend, school events, or a family outing. Elevated casual is my go-to style.

Outfit 4: Laid-Back Weekend Look with Wide-Leg Jeans
For the last outfit, I put together a laid-back weekend look with my comfortable wide-leg jeans from Gap Factory and my Adidas Sambas. You can easily layer this outfit with a trench coat or a wool coat and even add a baseball hat. It’s the perfect outfit for family time or any weekend plans you have!
