I’m SO excited to share my everyday, mom-friendly capsule wardrobe for fall 2026! If you’re new to my mom-friendly capsule wardrobe series here at TWHL, let me tell you a little about it!
For the past four years, I’ve been sharing seasonal capsule wardrobes that are mom-friendly and easy to style. My goal is to help you get dressed every day and feel good in what you’re wearing. The secret isn’t buying a bunch of new clothes—it’s having the right pieces that work together. That’s why I create these guides to help you build a wardrobe you love on a budget.
As a busy mom of two, I know that getting dressed can feel challenging some days. You want to feel cute and put together without spending too much time figuring out what to wear. Having a small collection of clothes you can easily mix and match makes getting dressed so much simpler!
What’s in the Fall Capsule?
When I put together these capsules, I think about what I want to wear in my own everyday life. I want to be comfortable, but I still want to feel cute! For this fall capsule, I mixed casual pieces like T-shirts and sneakers with some more elevated options. I like having a little of both in my wardrobe so I can get dressed depending on what I have going on that day.
Before you buy anything new, I always encourage you to shop your closet first! The goal isn’t to buy a whole new wardrobe, it’s to use the capsule that I have created for you as a guide to start filling your wardrobe with meaningful pieces. You don’t need to have all 20 pieces I shared to make these outfits work. I’ve included a checklist below to help you look through what you already have, so make sure you use it!
And please make this capsule your own! If a color isn’t your favorite or you prefer a different style of jeans, use what you love. The pieces don’t have to look exactly like mine. I want you to use these outfits as inspiration to wear the clothes you have in new ways.
If you do find something you’d like to add to your closet, I have three shopping links below for each item, including the pieces I’m styling. That way, you have a few options to choose from depending on your style and budget!
TOPS
Ivory short-sleeve tee: A simple white tee is one of those pieces I reach for all year. It gives this fall palette a fresh, clean base and works well on its own during warmer days. I love this cotton T-shirt from Quince that I am wearing in the post.

Mauve ribbed short-sleeve tee: I love bringing a soft, muted color into a fall capsule. The ribbed texture makes this tee feel a little more special than a basic T-shirt while keeping it comfortable for everyday wear. For this post, I am styling another great t-shirt from Quince.

Light blue chambray button-down shirt: A chambray button-down is such a useful in-between piece. It feels polished without being overly dressy, and the light blue adds a nice break from the deeper colors in the capsule. This light blue short sleeve bottom-down from Amazon is one of my favorite tops for fall. I really love the sleeve details on it.

Olive green short-sleeve tee: Olive green is one of my favorite colors for fall because it feels seasonal but still works like a neutral. This tee adds color without making the capsule harder to mix and match. I’m wearing the lightweight cotton cashmere t-shirt from Quince, which I think it the perfect option for fall.

Plum sweatshirt: I wanted one really cozy top for casual days, and burgundy gives the capsule that perfect fall feel. A classic sweatshirt keeps things practical for school drop-off, errands and relaxed weekends. This plum sweatshirt from Quince is so soft, stretchy and comfortable! It’s a great option for this section!

LAYERS
Medium-wash denim chore jacket: I always include a denim jacket in my fall capsule wardrobe, but this year I switched out my classic denim jacket for a denim chore jacket. A denim chore jacket gives me the ease of a classic denim jacket with a slightly more relaxed shape. The medium wash works with the entire color palette and is an easy layer for everyday outfits. The jacket that I am styling is from Quince and I am loving it’s quality.

Cropped Trench Coat: The cream cropped trench coat is such a great layering piece for fall! I love that it feels casual and polished at the same time, so it can pull together even the simplest outfit. Mine is from Amazon and what I love most about this jacket is the cute plaid lining on the inside of the jacket.

Navy and white striped sweater: You know I can’t resist a striped sweater! Navy and white is timeless, and this piece adds a little pattern while staying easy to coordinate with the rest of the wardrobe. My striped crewneck sweater is from Quince and so far it’s been one of my favorite layers this fall!

Taupe Button Cardigan: A neutral button cardigan is one of the most versatile layers I can add. It works as a light layer on warmer days and gives me a cozy option once the temperatures start to drop. I went with this Amazon cardigan because it’s so soft and comfortable. It layers well over everything!

BOTTOMS
Medium-wash wide-leg jeans: Medium-wash jeans are an everyday staple, and the wide-leg silhouette gives this capsule a current feel. They’re casual enough for busy days but still easy to dress up when I want to feel more polished. Last winter I bought these wide-leg stretchy jeans from Amazon and I have been loving them so I had to include them in my capsule.

Brown wide-leg jeans: Dark brown is such a beautiful fall neutral. These pants bring warmth and depth to the capsule while giving me a nice alternative to black. I shared these pants in a recent blog post How to Wear Brown Jeans. I knew I had to include them in this capsule!
Shop this style: [Quince– 25/short] | [Kohl’s] | [LOFT]
Pink wide-leg pants: I always love including one bottom that adds a little personality with some sort of pop of color. Dusty pink feels soft and wearable, and it brings a pretty pop of color to all the capsule’s neutrals. I found these super comfortable pink jeans on Amazon and felt they would be perfect in this capsule!

Black Athleisure cropped pants: Black wide-leg pants are a dependable foundation for so many kinds of days. I can keep them casual and comfortable or make them feel a little more elevated depending on what the day calls for.

Gray straight-leg jeans: Gray jeans add another versatile denim option without feeling repetitive. The cooler wash balances the browns, burgundy and olive in the capsule and gives me a slightly different look from classic blue jeans. The gray jeans that I shared are the same pair I shared in my Teacher Capsule Wardrobe last week.

DRESS
Navy short-sleeve shirt dress: I wanted a one-piece option for this capsule wardrobe, and this button-front short sleeve shirt dress seemed to be the perfect option. The material is perfect for fall and it’s easy to layer.

SHOES
Brown sneakers: Comfortable sneakers are a must for my everyday life. The brown color feels perfect for fall and adds a little more warmth than a basic white sneaker. These brown adidas sneakers are the pair of sneakers that I have been wearing on repeat this fall.
Shop this style: [Adidas-7] | [Quince] | [Walmart]
Brown Mary Jane flats: Mary Jane flats make an outfit feel pulled together without sacrificing comfort. I love the feminine strap detail, and brown keeps them easy to wear with the rest of the palette.
Shop this style: [Dream Pairs] | [Old Navy] | [Target]
Tan loafers: Tan loafers give me a polished shoe option that still feels practical for everyday wear. The neutral shade keeps them light and versatile, especially with the darker bottoms in the capsule.

ACCESSORIES
White Statement Necklace: A statement necklace is a simple way to make a casual outfit feel more finished. It adds a classic, feminine touch without taking away from the easy feel of the capsule. This affordable Amazon statement necklace has been a great staple in my wardrobe.
Shop this style: [Amazon] | [Amazon] | [Target]
Tan belt: A tan belt adds warmth and definition while tying in with the brown shoes. It’s a small piece, but it can make an outfit feel intentional in seconds. I love buying my belts on Amazon in a 2 pack so that I have 2 color options! I’ve shared this tan belt for the last few years because it’s one of my most worn belts!
