I don’t know about you, but this last year has put me into an outfit rut. I am so stuck in my comfy lounge wear clothes that it’s hard sometimes for me to switch it up and actually wear real clothes. I love creating outfits and sharing them on the blog, but when the time comes to actually put together an outfit to go somewhere in, I just can’t decided. I always end up wearing the same thing which is usually something really comfortable. Now that the weather is getting warmer and we are actually leaving the house more, I am trying to wear more of my clothes and get creative with my outfits again. It’s time to leave my comfy clothes behind and step up my outfits.

I feel like I keep seeing this dress everywhere on Instagram lately. Usually I’m not one to jump on the bandwagon and buy the same dress every other blogger is sharing, but I knew I wanted to buy this $20 Target dress when I first saw it. Target had a very similar dress last spring that I wanted to buy so bad. It was bump-friendly and nursing-friendly, but then the pandemic happened I put shopping on hold for the final months of my pregnancy and I never ended up buying the dress. When I saw they had a similar dress this season I knew I wanted it!Read more

Restyling Your Wardrobe
I love the style of this dress, but it’s always been a little big on me. I’d like to hold on to it though because I think it would be perfect to wear for future maternity wear (if needed). I decided to add a belt to help define my waist a little. A belt is always a good way to restyle a dress when you get bored of wearing it the same way. I wore my black espadrille wedge shoes, that I bought 4 years ago on clearance at Target. I keep telling myself that I want a new pair of espadrille wedges, but I still have a couple pairs that I love in my closet, so I figured I will hold off for now.

Sometimes instead of spending, your best bet is to take a closer look in your own wardrobe to see what you already have. One of my favorite fictional characters is Carrie Bradshaw and I always love a good Carrie quote. One of my favorites is… “Maybe the best any of us can do is not quit, play the hand we’ve been dealt and accessorize what we’ve got.”
We can’t all be shopping all the time and have the latest most trendy wardrobes, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t be stylish with what you already have.
