I have a confession to make. I am really bad at decorating. I know what I like when I see it, but I don’t know how to make it all work and flow together. That’s why when people started asking me if I had a theme picked out for our new baby girl’s nursery I didn’t know what to say. I hadn’t even thought of it yet.

It was pretty easy when I had Jack because I knew I wanted my theme to be airplanes. With his dad being a pilot, it only made sense to go with the airplane theme. His nursery was very simple, but it was cute and he ended up getting lots of airplane clothes and decor. For colors I went with navy, gray and green. I hadn’t ever really thought about what colors or a theme for a baby girl though.
I love pink, but I wasn’t sure what other colors would go with pink. I knew I didn’t want it to be too pink. It wasn’t until I was at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago that I saw a display for a southwestern girl theme room. The display was light pink and green with cactus, flowers, and palm leaves. I fell in love with the display and decided to use it as my baby girl’s nursery inspiration. Pink and green are my 2 favorite colors and I used them as my wedding colors when I got married, so it’s perfect to incorporate them into a baby’s room. I also love the southwestern theme, because I fell in love with the southwest desert after living in Las Vegas for 4 years. Why not bring that back for my Michigan baby?
I haven’t bought anything yet. I’m still in the planning stages, but here are some of the accessories and decor I have my eye out for while planning out our baby girl’s nursery.

This spring I’m hoping to get into full nesting mode and get baby girl’s nursery all set up. I hope to share some of my finds as I go along. Follow me on Instagram to see how the progress goes.
