Last month, my coated black jeans from maurices were among the top-selling items, and it’s no wonder – these pants look absolutely adorable when paired with holiday outfits. However, I’ve noticed that many people find themselves unsure about how to wear coated black jeans with their daily wardrobe. That’s why today, I’m excited to share six different ways to effortlessly style your coated black jeans, ensuring chic and practical looks throughout the winter season!

While coated black jeans might seem intimidating to some, treating them just like a regular pair of black jeans can make them feel more approachable. The glossy texture of these pants will help elevate your outfits, adding a touch of fun. I like to use my choice of shoes and layers to create casual looks with these pants, making them more suitable for everyday wear and practicality.

How to wear coated black jeans
Outfit 1: Coated Black Jeans + Denim Jacket + Convers Sneakers
One of my go-to methods for achieving a more relaxed look is to incorporate a denim jacket and sneakers into my ensemble. Whether it’s a dress or dress pants, combining them with these casual pieces instantly gives a laid-back vibe to your outfit. For this look, I opted for my light-wash denim jacket instead of my usual darker-wash choice. I appreciate how the lighter wash adds a refreshing touch to the overall look. Completing the ensemble, I chose my timeless black Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers – a classic pair that never goes out of style. This outfit is ideal for transitioning into spring effortlessly!
Outfit 2: Coated Black Jeans + Green Cardigan + Neutral Booties
This is an elevated outfit that you could either take to work or a night out with friends. I have been loving building my outfits from an all-black base. It gives you a nice starting point, then you can accessorize and layer it however you would like. I went with my olive green cardigan and dressed up the look with my neutral booties.
Outfit 3: Coated black jeans + Quarter zip pullover sweatshirt + White sneakers
If you’re aiming for a laid-back vibe, this outfit is perfect for you! The quarter-zip pullover sweatshirt adds a touch of sophistication compared to a typical crew neck or hoodie sweatshirt. It complements well with the coated black jeans. For a finishing touch, white sneakers are a consistently excellent choice for a casual and stylish look!
Outfit 4: Coated Black Jeans + Coatigan + Chelsea Boots
Currently, my go-to layering piece is this khaki-colored coatigan, a favorite in my wardrobe. I enjoy pairing it with an all-black ensemble. The Chelsea boots help create a laid-back and comfortable winter vibe, but feel free to elevate the look with heels or booties, or keep it more casual by opting for sneakers.
Outfit 5: Coated Black Jeans + Purple Top + Plaid Coat + Chelsea Boots
I’m really into this deep purple shade this winter! The ribbed purple top serves as the ideal statement piece for the season, especially when paired with coated black jeans. When wearing cropped straight-leg jeans in the winter, I make sure to pair them up with boot socks to keep my ankles covered and warm. A long wool coat is a winter essential for me, and a plaid dad coat (similar) perfectly completes the outerwear for this ensemble!
Outfit 6: Coated Black Jeans + Neutral Sweater + White Sneakers
For my final look, I went for a straightforward and uncomplicated style. As I mentioned in my blog post last week, Mom Winter Outfit Combinations, one of my preferred winter mom outfits involves pairing a sweater with black jeans. By swapping out my usual black jeans for a glossy-coated black jean, I effortlessly elevate the overall casual aesthetic.
