In case you are wondering, no I am not pregnant, nor do I plan on having any more babies. My days of putting together maternity outfits are over. But recently I have been asked for maternity wardrobe recommendations. When I was pregnant with Anna, I wrote a whole series called “Building a Maternity Wardrobe on a Budget“. Most of those posts are still relevant, but I felt like I could do a little update to make these maternity posts a little more helpful. I don’t know why, but maternity fashion is always overwhelming for most pregnant women. I think that we tell ourselves that we are supposed to dress in a different way because we are pregnant and our bodies are growing. We tell ourselves that we need to buy “maternity clothes”. The truth is, when it comes to your maternity fashion, nothing needs to change. I still believe that most women can get away with buying only a few essential maternity clothes in the maternity department.Read more
Here I am in the last trimester of my second pregnancy. I’d like to say that I learned a little more about the basics of maternity style this time around. I learned what I like and what I don’t like when it comes to maternity clothes. I will say that my last pregnancy was a little more fun to dress for. I had fun finding new ways to dress my bump and be creative with my non-maternity clothes. This pregnancy, I’ve tried to stick more to comfort over creativity.
