When it comes to dressing for winter, it’s all about layers. You always need to be prepared for changing temperatures outside and inside. I’ve never liked big bulky winter clothes, that’s why if you peek into my closet you will see lots of lighter clothes that can easily be layered.

The key to keeping your layered outfits comfortable is to avoid over-layering. You don’t want your outfit to feel stiff and hard to move in. No one wants to feel like the kid from A Christmas Story…hahaha. I like to stick with lightweight clothes. (Check out my reel HERE) I bought this plaid scarf last December at a local second-hand store. I’ve been looking for a plaid scarf like this for years. I love that it has green and red, so it’s great to wear around the holidays, but I also wear it throughout the winter with my coats. Sometimes it’s tricky to figure out how to wear a scarf. You would think it would be pretty easy, but it’s not always.

I have such mixed emotions about Christmas this year. Part of me is so excited to celebrate with my little family. It’s Anna’s first Christmas and Jack is super excited for Santa this year. I’m trying to create new memories and traditions for our family and I’m really excited about it, but then there is also a part of me that is very sad about Christmas this year. We usually spend the entire week of Christmas with our families and this year, because of the pandemic, we will be staying home. I know we will FaceTime with everyone and make the best of the holiday the same way we have all year long, but it’s just not the same. There are no parties, no family get-togethers, no meetups with friends, and no events worth dressing up for this Christmas. But that does not mean that I can’t put together a Christmas party outfit idea post, right? I still have a closet full of clothes just waiting to be worn.
