It’s hard to find the balance between comfy and cute when you have little kids at home. I know this first hand. Welcome to 2022! I spent the last 2 weeks relaxing with my family. The days leading up to Christmas were a little rough for me. There was too much anticipation and excitement that I was struggling to hold everything together at home. I decided that I would take a little break or at least a break from caring. I stop caring about posting holiday outfit reel to Instagram or getting on my phone to check how my posts were doing or responding to the emails that came my way. Instead, I listened to a book and started watching the second season of You on Netflix. I did the things I never do in my free time, instead of the things I thought I should be doing and it was amazing! I spent more time being in the moment with my kids and enjoying them.

I can’t believe that another month has past and it’s time to do another real-mom outfit of the day roundup. I honestly never know what to call these posts. I use to call them “What I Wore” posts, then I would say monthly posts. Lately, I have just been referring to them as real-life mom outfit-of-the-day roundups because that’s what they are. They are the real everyday outfits that I wear. I love putting together outfits, but when it comes to actually getting a chance to wear every outfit that I style for the blog it’s hard. I just don’t have that many exciting places to wear them to. That’s why I challenge myself every day to put on something that I feel good in.

Over on Instagram, I did a poll to see if you guys still like to see my real-life everyday outfits and an overwhelming amount of people said yes! I always feel like now that I don’t have a job to go to every day it gets harder to share the actual outfits I wear daily. I often find myself planning my outfits and staging most of them for my Instagram and blog content. I don’t think that there is anything wrong with wanting my content to look pretty, but not everything is always perfect pretty.

2 Casual Ways to Style a Neutral Dress

As everyone has been shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale the last couple of weeks, I have been shopping for look-a-like items from the sale for less. (You can check out all my favorite splurges and saves from my recent post HERE!!) One of my favorite items in the nsale was this neutral-colored cotton midi dress. I loved its style, so I knew I had to find a similar dress for less. I ended up finding this crew neck neutral-colored midi dress on Amazon for $13 less than the Nordstrom dress. I am so happy with my purchase. This dress fits perfectly! It’s true to size (I’m wearing a small) and it hits me at the perfect length, which is not always easy for me when buying midi dresses because I’m only 5’1. Most are either knee length or maxis on me.
