Shackets came on to my radar about a year ago. At first, I wasn’t crazy about the trend. I mean they kind of gave me a factory worker/ lumberjack vibe. But the more I saw them styled the more I started thinking that it might be a trend that I could try. They do serve a function as a jacket and I know that they can be versatile in my wardrobe, so I decided to be opened minded about them.

Last fall when I did a poll on Instagram asking what trend I should try next I got a lot of requests for shackets. I’ve been meaning to find one and share it, but nothing caught my eye. Recently I picked out a couple pieces from the boutique Lou Lou’s Boutique. When I saw the selection of shackets I knew I wanted to try one out. I picked out this brown plaid Walk in the Woods Shacket and I have to tell you that I am pleasantly surprised. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the pattern, but I am really loving the neutral color pallet. Not only does it go great with black and other neutrals, but there are a ton of colors you can wear with it. Unlike some of the other shackets I tried on in stores, this one is very soft. It’s not as thick as I was expecting it to be, but I am okay with that because that means it’s perfect for layering over anything.
Today I want to share some ways that I am styling my shacket for winter.

1.) Faux Leather Leggings
I knew that this shacket would look great with my faux leather leggings, so I couldn’t wait to put together a look with them. For winter I think it’s fun to layer over sweaters. It adds warmth and it also helps give your outfit a little more creativity, so I wore a turtleneck sweater from Amazon. For shoes, I went with my Chelsea boots and added my boot socks for some extra warmth and texture at the ankles.
2.) Joggers
I love cozy joggers in the wintertime, so it just made sense to build an outfit around my cozy joggers from Maurices. I wore a beige bodysuit from Express which goes perfectly with the colors in the shacket. I also have on my gold star sneakersalso from Lou Lou’s Boutique that I am obsessed with at the moment! I completed the outfit with a baseball cap. I was feeling the VGK colors for this outfit.
3.) Jeans
I love this outfit so much! This Express sweater is so soft and warm and the color is perfect to wear with the neutral colors in the shacket. For jeans, I went with this classic straight-leg pair. I just love the fit of these jeans! For shoes, I went with my favorite Target booties.
4.) Black Dress
This simple black dress is such a great staple in my closet. I bought it because I loved my maternity black dress so much and I wanted to have a non-maternity simple black dress. I would typically wear an outfit like this with a denim jacket, but I am loving the way that the shacket brings in a pattern. To dress up the look I went with my thrifted knee-high boots as my shoe.

As much as I can appreciate the outfits, I miss when your posts were more selfie style, and personalized and less staged like they are appearing now. That's what had set you aside from the rest of the OOTD "influencers". I hope that ypu go back to that former style rather than confirm to what every other OOTD poster is doing.
I'm sorry you feel that way. I do include a mix of all types of photos here one my blog. I don't think that my format has changed very much if you look back on my prior posts from years ago. I've always taken my photos in the best spots for lighting. I understand that everyone has their own opinions, but I find this comment hurtful considering the amount of hard work I have put into making my blog better over the years. I put a lot of thought and heart into everything that I share here. I guess I can't please everyone.
