The holidays are over and now it’s time to head back to work. I always like to start off the new year refreshed and motivated. Some of you may have made a new year goal to dress cuter. I always feel like my outfit can help me have a more productive day, so when I was working I made it a goal to always wear something that I felt cute and confident in. Winter can be hard to stay creative though. I always find myself in an outfit rut in January. That’s why today I want to share 4 different wardrobe pieces that can help upgrade your workwear wardrobe this winter!
How to Style Tights For Winter
Living in a cold climate like Michigan, I am always trying to figure out how to winterize my wardrobe. I like to make the most of my clothes and wear them year-round. The best way to do that is by adding layers. One of my favorite winter layers is tights. Tights are a great option when you want to dress up in the winter, but also stay warm and hide your pale winter legs. Today I want to share some tips for wearing tights along with some ways that I have styled tights with my wardrobe.
Trends to Try- Chelsea Boots
I’ve been on the hunt for a pair of Chelsea boots all fall. This was a trend that I have been wanting to try, but I wasn’t sure if it was for me. I feel like these chunky style boots can look a little too young and edgy for my style, but when I started to think about how practical they could be in the winter months I started to open up to them more and more. At first, I started looking at combat boots. I tried on a few pairs while I was out shopping and I just couldn’t get into them. It was something about the laces that I didn’t like, so then I shifted my focus to the Chelsea boots. I tried on a pair at every store I went to, but I just couldn’t find the right pair. Then finally I found a cute affordable pair of Chelsea boots (HERE) at Kohl’s. (Boots run big. I went down a half size.) They were under $40 and had everything I was looking for in a winter boot.
Trends to Try- Faux Leather
If you haven’t jumped on the faux leather trend yet, then it’s probably time that you at least start to consider it. It took me a while to get into faux leather. I find it a little edgy for my style, but I finally decided to give it a go a couple of years ago and I am glad I did. This isn’t a trend I see going anywhere anytime soon! Today I want to share with you 3 faux leather clothing pieces that you can add to your closet to give this trend a try.
How to Style Staight-leg Jeans in 2021
Straight-leg jeans seem to be a hot topic at the moment. Ever since this idea that you are old if you still wear skinny jeans came about, everyone either seems to be running out and getting straight-leg jeans or holding their ground strong and refusing to wear them. Now I am not saying that I will be getting rid of my skinny jeans any time soon. I still prefer them over straight-leg jeans, but I do like to have a variety of jeans in my wardrobe. This helps my outfits stay fresh.

A few weeks ago I was scrolling through Instagram and saw a post from one of my favorite style bloggers Merrick’s Art. (If you are not following this blog you need to!! She shares the best style tips!!) She has a series on Instagram where she takes outfits that she wore in the past and updates them to how she would style them now. This post gave me an amazing idea for a blog post series. I want to take some of the outfits that I shared in my early days of blogging and show you how I would style that same look now with updated pieces in my wardrobe.
