I have a friend who is always giving me great content for my blog. She often will text me when she needs help picking out an outfit for something, whether it be for church or vacation. Recently, she texted me to ask what you would wear out for dinner with a friend as an adult. Haha, we are not used to going out with friends, so sometimes you just get stumped. I thought about it, and I feel that a pair of paper bag shorts are perfect for a summer dinner date out with a friend. You can dress them down or dress them up. These types of shorts are my favorite shorts for summer by far!Read more
C-section vs. VBAC
My 2 birth experiences were completely different from each other, yet I still ended up with the same outcome which was a healthy baby. 4 years ago, when I gave birth to my son Jack, I delivered him by emergency c-section. Recently, with my second baby, Anna, I was able to deliver her by VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean). As long as you didn’t have any medical problems or complications with your first pregnancy, most women have the choice to have a VBAC or a repeat c-section for their second birth. It’s a personal choice and both deliveries have their risks. Today I want to share both of my birth experiences with you. You might be someone on the fence about what direction to go in, so hopefully, my experiences with both will help you with your decision.

As you already know, I’m a lover of thrift shopping. I love the hunt and the feeling I get when I find the perfect piece for me at the perfect price. It gives me goosebumps. Well, my thrift shopping days have been on hold for the last couple of months ever since Coronavirus showed up. Way back in early March, late February I was in contact with Goodwill of Greater Grand Rapids on doing a sponsored post with them. My plan was to share how you can find affordable maternity outfits at Goodwill. Well, that idea fell through because by the time stores opened back up here in Michigan, I wasn’t pregnant anymore. That’s why today, I’m still going to do my post, but this time it’s going to be about thrifting the perfect postpartum clothes at Goodwill.Read more
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Wishlist
I’m sure by now most of you are familiar with the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Basically, this sale is kind of a big deal because Nordstrom puts all their brand new fall clothes on sale at the beginning of the season. Most sales are in the middle of the season or at the end, so you’re not getting the brand new merchandise. That’s why this sale is the most blogged about sale of the year. I’m always a little hesitant to cover this sale because some times I think it’s overdone. Every blogger covers the sale and they go crazy over it. All you see on your news feed on Instagram for the whole second half of the summer is fall clothes from the Nsale. To be honest, I don’t always shop this sale because I don’t shop just because there is a big sale, however, I do browse this sale every year. It’s just too hard to ignore and because I do love shopping at Nordstrom so much, I like to get an idea of the new fall fashion trends. I will also make a purchase if I see something that I really like, but I would never go crazy and buy up a whole new wardrobe. Many of the clothes that are on sale are usually out of my price range, but with the sale prices, I’m more likely to make a purchase. Read more
Postpartum Summer Outfits
It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything fashion-related posts on here, so I figured today I’d share a few of my favorite postpartum summer outfits. I completely forgot how busy life can get with a newborn. They eat and poop around the clock. Add a busy 4-year-old to the mix and your outfits get put on hold. That’s why I’ve been pretty much rotated through the same outfits over the last month or so. I’ve mostly just been wearing rompers and jumpsuits every day. I love them because they are cute, comfortable, and effortless. They take no thought to throw on with a pair of sandals and you can call it a day. I’ve also been loving anything with buttons and pockets. Buttons are perfect for nursing and the pockets are great for putting pacifiers and other necessities that I don’t have enough hands to carry with a baby in them.
Why I Love my Belly Bandit C-Section Shorts
Let’s talk about postpartum recovery for a minute. It’s not an easy process. For me, after sharing my body with another human for 9 months, I got very excited about getting my body back. It’s exciting to think about all the clothes that you can wear again and just how much more comfortable it is without a baby pressing against your insides. The problem is, postpartum recovery takes time. It’s much more than just recovering from childbirth. Your body needs to heal from the pregnancy too.
