Winter is coming and that means that I am already collecting new clothes to add to my wardrobe this year. To help me stay on budget and also be intentional with my shopping I always like to keep an ongoing wishlist in the notes on my phone. That’s why today I wanted to share what’s on my winter wardrobe wishlist this year.

I started making a wishlist years ago to help me shop for the clothes that I really wanted to buy. Once I started using a shopping wishlist for clothes I started to notice that I was really loving the new clothes that I was bringing into my wardrobe. (Related post: HERE!) I started to keep my clothes longer. I stopped settling for the clearance items that were the wrong color or the wrong fit. I also made fewer impulse purchases. I do still end up with buyer’s remorse here and there, but overall I feel that my wardrobe is well-rounded and filled with clothes that I really love to wear.
What’s on my winter wardrobe wishlist this year?
My wishlist is ongoing. I’m always adding new items and removing the things I decide I don’t actually want anymore. I like to start shopping early and that is why I have already bought half my winter wishlist so far. I’m sure I’ll be adding to it soon as we get closer to Christmas, but here is what I have been shopping for on my winter wardrobe wishlist so far this year.
1.) Lightweight Down Long Puffer Jacket
Cute coats in the winter are a necessity for me. I am on the hunt for an everyday coat that I can wear while I am running errands. I want something long, but I don’t want it to be too heavy. I currently have my eye on this long coat a Quince HERE and also this similar coat at Columbia HERE.
2.) Plaid Blazer
I would really love to add a brown plaid blazer to my blazer collection. Typically I like to thrift my blazers, but I have been striking out on my thrift search for one that I really want. I saw this one HERE at TJ Maxx but decided to hold off and now it’s out of stock. I tried on this blazer at Target HERE, but it was a little too big for me. I want it to be oversized, but not too oversized. Two blazers that I currently have my eye on are this plaid blazer HERE from Maurices and this blazer HERE from Kohl’s. I will keep you posted on what I find!
3.) Wool Dad Coat
Last year I thrifted a Gap wool dad coat from ThredUp and I loved it, but it’s not lined on the inside and it’s a little long on me. That’s why I knew I wanted to upgrade my coat to something that was warmer and fit me a little better. I found this dad coat HERE at Abercrombie during the LTK fall sale. I used some of my reward points and I was able to get the coat at a good price, but it was still a splurge for me. I know that this coat will stand the test of time in my wardrobe though so it’s defiantly a splurge-worthy item!
4.) Gray 47′ Tigers Hat
I love my Detroit Tigers hat so much that I really have been wanting to buy one in another color. I like to be able to switch up my hats to match my outfits, so I was excited to add this gray Tiger’s 47′ hat to my wardrobe. It goes with everything and just gives me more options for hats to wear year-round.
5.) Crewneck sweatshirt
I knew I wanted to buy a couple of legging-friendly tops this fall to have for winter. This sweatshirt HERE from Old Navy was a winner for me! It’s so cozy and I love the heather pink color!
6.) Crewneck Carmel Sweater
I have bought an Old Navy crewneck sweater for the last 3 years and I love them. I have my eye on this Carmel color sweater, but when I saw it on sale last week and went to buy it, my size was sold out. Luckily, as I checked the link before adding it to this post I see that it has restocked, so I might be grabbing it soon! I just love the color!
7.) Black Coated Pants
I am loving the shiny pants at the moment! Especially as we get closer to Christmas! I knew I wanted a pair, so I grabbed this pair of pants HERE at Express when they had them on sale for 50% off! I always love finding ways to incorporate new trends into my wardrobe, so I’m sure that I will share how to wear them soon!
8.) Button-down pajama set
I love a good classic pair of pajamas with a button shirt. I have a pair in black, but I have been really wanting another pair to add to my pajama collection. That’s why I was so happy that they were 40% off at Target last week! I grabbed this pair of pajamas HERE and I am loving them!
9.) Ballet Flats
Ballet flats are big this fall! I’ve always loved ballet flats, but I don’t have any round-toe flats in my wardrobe. I will either end up thrifting a pair soon or I will probably go for this cute pair of ballet flats HERE at Target next time I see them on sale!
10.) Rain Chelsea boots
I love my Chelsea boots, but my only complaint is that they are not very waterproof. I need a pair of boots that can handle the slush and snow for winter, so I am loving that I was able to thrift these Target rainboots HERE on Poshmark! I always love when I can find new shoes on Poshmark!
